Welcome to DorkToTheMax's art blog!
This blog is NSFW. I like porn and I like to draw a lot of it.
Commissions are currently closed, but will be open again soon.
Digital Art: My primary software to draw in is Paint Tool SAI, with occasional Photoshop touches.. While I've been doing digital work regularly for a few years now, I am still adjusting from the lifetime of traditional art. I don't have a fancy tablet because I believe that a tablet's worth/brand name does not make you a good artist. My tablet is gigantic, low-cost, efficient and has served me well for years, and hopefully for a few more.
Traditional Art: Pencils are my favorite media to work with, closely followed by charcoal, conte, and acrylic paints. Most of my traditional art is more detailed than my digital work because of my familiarity and comfort. It also tends to be more gritty and dark. Under normal circumstances, I don't offer traditional art commissions, and anything you see done with traditional media is personal.
Critique: Constructive critique is welcome and encouraged (but don't just be a kiss-ass). I am trying to better myself and expand my skills, so any advice that can help is appreciated. If you have nothing productive to say, then don't say it. It just makes you look like a dick.

It sucks to live in here where i can’t get it, sigh. But maybe this information will be useful for my followers
This has been something that has been bothering me for the past few years, every time I encounter someone who’s just started as an artist, they put themselves down because they’re intimidated by artists who are more experienced. Intimidation is something that every artist has (or will) encounter in their lives, and they need to pull through that fear in order to grow as an artist. Take that intimidation and be inspired about it. What makes it intimidating? What makes their work look so unique? That’s where your learning opportunistic moments will occur, you find those reasons and you create something new out of all that you’ve learned!
I believe that anyone, ANYONE, can become an artist. It takes dedication and determination, but I promise you that drawing is one of the most rewarding art forms I’ve ever experienced. You will always learn something new with it, therefore, the fun never stops!
When creating a character, there’s a lot of questions you ask yourself. Whether it’s an original character or one you’ve been playing for a long time, using a character sheet to get to know your character better can always be a nice idea. With it’s help, you’ll be able to think about things you didn’t necesarily thought about, and ask some important questions to yourself that might activate your character’s voice, or help you to get your muse back with them. Everyone has their favorite character sheets, some people prefer to have a lot of questions, some others like it a bit more vague, so here’s a masterlist of the character sheets I found on various websites and found quite interesting, plus some other things that could be used to help you see, for example, how other character view yours.
- Blank Character Sheet (+370 Questions)
- Abridged Character Sheet (100 Questions)
- Big-Ass Character Sheet
- Character Creation Form
- Character Sheet by Jody Hedlund
- Creating a character Bio Sheet
- Character Analysis Worksheet
- 100 Character Development questions for writers

- Character Twenty-Question Worksheet

- Character Interview Sheet (First Person)

- Characters Perceptions (How do other people perceive your character?)
Then, if you’re trying to create a character, and do not have many ideas, or get stuck, I’d suggest for you to roam around TVTropes, which gives you a lot of tropes used for character creation. Maybe you could try to mix a few of these and create an original character?
Or, if you’re a skillful writer and know how to make your character different from another, make a list of characters in fiction you happen to find interesting and why. Try to keep it short. Then, maybe, try to mix and match things from two or three characters, take a character and change their backstory, to see what would change. Play with them to inspire yourself and create something new, original and truly yours.
Oh, and here’s a little guide to Mary-Sues and OCs, just in case you want to make sure your character isn’t going to become a Mary-Sue or a Gary-Stu
And last but not least, this article about building fictional character definitely seemed interesting to me, and is full of many other links that could guide you during the creating of your character and help you file one of these sheets.
GOD BLESS YOU DUDE <3
Some of you may know, although I try to keep my personal struggles fairly private, that over the past three years I’ve been working in store management for a major retail company. Over the past year, the situation at my job continually deteriorated until I was more or less an exhausted, depressed mess. I withdrew socially and barely had energy to paint, which is one of my favorite things to do.
To make a very long story short, I never wanted to stay in retail for the rest of my life, and my job became so totally unbearable that I felt more-or-less forced to quit for the sake of my own sanity. My goal is eventually to work in program management for an arts-based facility. I’ve gotten my foot in the door at some local institutions, but unfortunately I will probably have to work as an unpaid intern for some time until I graduate to a paid position.
With that said, I still have rent, groceries, and student loans to pay for, and I’m hoping to scare up some of the money for my various living expenses through commission work. I know many of you who frequent tumblr don’t have the disposable income to pay for artwork, but if you wouldn’t mind reblogging this post as a signal boost, I’d really appreciate it.
• Portraits - $40
• Half body, some background $45 +$20 per additional character
• Full body, little to no background - $60 + $30 per additional character

Keep in mind, I am capable of drawing more than just character-based images as well. If you’re looking for a landscape, an animal, etc, please let me know and we can discuss terms.
